WELCOME TO PHOTOGRAPHY!
In this class, we will be using Google Photo to create an online portfolio of your photography work. It is a free photo storage and organization site, which can be accessed from home, your phone and from school. We will be going to the library and signing up for google photo, or you can sign up on your smartphone or personal device.
The first step in getting a google photo account is to create a google account / gmail account. My suggestion is that you start using this gmail account for ALL school related emails.
It is important you use your first and last name as your school Gmail account so teachers can easily decifer who is who. (Although dragonlily@gmail.com or Sk8er4life@gmail.com are fine email addresses, it will serve you better if your teachers can see who you are right in your address.)
Once you create a gmail account, sign in to Google Photos and then add the Google Photos App to your smartphone. BONUS: Please remember that google photos stores your pictures on the cloud so once it is installed photos will not take up space on your phone.
As you take pictures, you will be uploading them to your Google Photos account. As you complete assignments, you will be adding your very best pictures to the shared assignment albums you have created on Google Photos and share it with me. This is the only way I will be accepting photo assignments. I will not accept assignment via email or in hardcopy. At the end of the school year you will have a complete portfolio on Google Photos.
